What Causes Muffled Hearing After Treating Sinus Infection And Stuffy Nose?

I have recently had a sinus infection/stuffy nose. After i got over the sinus issues I feel like there is cotton in my ear and everything i hear is muffled so the only way i can hear is to pull my ear and it pops so then it is clear, but as soon as i let go, i cant hear again..
