What Causes Muscle Pain On Gluteal Region ?

I have a severe muscle pain on my right glute area. It has been present for 3 days and I can barely walk. I can't think of anything specific that could have cause it. I was sitting at work and when I got up, it felt very stiff and then later got worse. What could this be and how can it be treated
