What Causes Nasal Congestion And Soreness In The Back Of Throat?

Hi. My nose gets blocked and the back of my throat at the top gets sore. If i do a mixture of strong blowing and also inhaling/snorting a piece of gristle comes down the back of my throat... My nose is then unblocked and the sore throat stops. This happened a few times now. It is about the size of a penny and hard gristle with blood. Is this normal please?
