What Causes Nausea And Ovarian Pain While Having Ovarian Cyst?

I have a left sided ovarian cyst that was diagnosed last year. Today i woke up with severe, sharp pain on that side and i feel nauseated as well. i had a tubal ligation 12 years ago so no ectopic. i have had one of those before, on the same side, and this pain feels different. i also have lymphocytic colitis so i thought that may be the problem. But the pain is different from when i have colitis pain. i am worried because this pain has lasted all day and i thought for sure it would have subsided by now.
