What Causes Nausea, Vomiting And Diarrhea After Eating Almonds?

I ate some almonds in the shell that were marked down cheap at the grocery store and an hour later I got nauseated , started vomiting and had diarherra for about 3 hours. Can you get food poisoning from old almonds? I am not allergic to any nuts either
