What Causes Nipples To Peel?

Hello, I am 19 yrs old & I am a female and I was wondering why do my nipples peel? they have been peeling for the past 4 yrs. White like seeds come off my nipples (a baby sucked on my nipples when i was 14)& i believe this is the reason why they do not grow. Also why do they turn purple when i shower?
