What Causes Nose Bleed And Cough After Inhaling Alcohol?

A couple nights ago I was doing a shot of vodka (I wasn t drunk) and somehow I managed to inhale while I was taking it and half of the shot came out my nose. Then I started coughing and I coughed up a small amount of blood, but that was the only time and it hasn t happened since. Is there a problem that I need to take care of?
