What Causes Nose Bleed While Having High Blood Pressure?

dear sir, my mom had cold for last two days and today morning suddenly she got blood on her nose and when she splits, she got blood as flum mode. we met doctor and was told that she had high BP of 170

plz let me know if blood flows out coz of BP or she could go for more check up
