What Causes Nose Bleeding With Dryness?

Just got a random nose bleed that lasted about 2 minutes. I do live in Alaska, where it is dry during the winter seasons. I thought it might be from stress though, or possibly not drinking enough water. What is more typical? Dryness, dehydration or stress from getting random nosebleeds?
