What Causes Numbness And Burning Sensation In The Tongue?

My tounge has been bothering me for the past 3 weeks. My tounge has a burning sensation and sometimes it feels numb. The pain gets worse as the day goes on. The sides of my tounge have sores on them and sometimes the sores move to my cheek and then my tounge gets better. Now the other side of my tounge is bothering me and I have grown skin tags on the bottom of my tounge. The skin under my tounge is very tender. I am a non-smoker and a non-drinker, eat healthy for the most part except the last three weeks it has been hard to eat anything. I was to the doctor twice and both have said it is an ulcer on my tounge, I think it has to be something else. I have had a bad cold for the last two weeks. I do have plenty of stress in my life could it be stress related?
