What Causes Numbness In Abdomen With On And Off Burning?

I am experiencing numbness in my upper abdomen, top of rib cage, under my right breast and around to the side in the upper area. I am also experiencing intermittent burning in this area. I have had a cholesystectomy back in 1981 and have had numbness due to that surgery but never in the area it is in now.
