What Causes Numbness In Both Hands?

I have numbness in both hands. I have had carpal tunnel in left wrist which eventually went away. I got shingles and have taken gabapentin for that. I am taking IBS medication which, I believe, is causing constipation and meclizine for dizziness when it appears. I see that gabapentin is one of the medications suggested for neuropathy. Should I begin taking the gabapentin again to stop the numbness?
