What Causes Numbness In Thigh?

I have had left front thigh numbness since week of Thanksgiving when I suffered such severe spasms in that area that after 2 percosets I still could not stand, sit or lay without crying out in pain. Never had pain be a 10 before but it was definately a 10. Now surface of thigh is numb and if I run or walk fast I get cramping behind and I get random flicks like from a rubberband. MRI of Lumbar shows no impingement of nerve root but does indicate that there is space narrowing and desiccation at L2-3, space narrowing, desiccation with minimal facet hypertrophy at L3-4, and desiccation with a minimal broad-based bulge and mild facet hypertrophy. Are my leg problems coming from this?
