What Causes Numbness In Thumb Finger?

this morning I woke up, and on the outer side of my left thumb there is a numbness. I can still feel, but not nearly as much. it almost feels like the feeling you get when you re walking out in the cold and you can feel your toes. only it s not cold. and I didn t hurt it at all. maybe I slept on it wrong? I don t know. but I ve been awake for a whole day now and the feeling hasn t come back.
