What Causes Numbness Of Dog Bite Wound After Applying Dressing Ointment?

Yesterday afternoon a pittbull attacked my dog. During the process of prying the two apart, the pit bit me. I went to the doctor and she perscribed an augmentin and ibuprofen and some dressing ointment. I have kept it clean and covered but the area is numb, to the touch. I can still feel pressure but it is numb. Is this normal?
