What Causes Orangish Looking Bruise On Stomach?

Hi.. My husband has unexplained bruising on his stomach. They are the size of an orange and deep purple. He did not injure himself in any way. He had the same thing happen about 6 months ago and they went away like a normal bruise would. The only other symptoms he has is fatigue and left flank pain. Any idea on what this might be ?
