What Causes Pain And Itching In Vagina?

While on my period I had put a tampon on. When I went to take it out it was really dry so I had to pull on it forcefully to remove it. While changing tampons I realized I was really itchy. Now I have ended my period. I feel pain in my vagina and I'm really itchy. I was about to take a shower when I saw tiny pieces of "tissue" coming from inside my vagina.
