What Causes Pain And Numbness In Hand And Finger Post Injury?

Hi I slipped on a wet tile 3 days ago, I fell funny not sure if I fell onto my hand and knocked the elbow on the step that I had came off or I fell on my elbow as it happened so quickly. I had fast emergency care (as I was on a cruise ship) I was told i had a partial dislocated elbow but when x-rayed they could see no dark pockets around the elbow. I am in a half cast for two weeks until I get seen by the fracture clinic and I am unsure if it is normal to still feel a lot of pain and numbness in my hand and fingers plus shooting pain up and down my arm ?
