What Causes Pain And Oozing From A Tattoo On Skin?

I have had a tattoo done on my foot, just over a week and a half ago, it is really painful, it feels like my skin is going to rip open at times, part of the scab came off in a sock and I put savlon on it, it then started oosing this yellow stuff, I presume too much savlon and today it hurts as if the tattoo is being done again from scratch, can't explain it, kind of like prickly heat but it hurts, is this normal ?
