What Causes Pain And Pinching Feeling After The Implanon Is Inserted?

I got an Implanon inserted in August of this year..within the last week of so it's been achy. It almost feels like something is pinching. I have also noticed it is much closer to the skin now, than when I got it inserted. I have had no problems with the Implanon until now? I have started indoor tanning recently, could that possibly be the cause?
