What Causes Pain And Swelling In Calf Muscle Radiating To Thigh?

A few weeks ago my outer calf muscle in my left leg became swollen and painful. I went to the er and was diagnosed with fluid in my gastrectmus..spelled wrong..muscle. A week later my thigh..close to my outter knee became swollen and painful where I couldn t bend my knee. Today my bicep gave me the same symptoms where I couldn t bend my arm. Although the pain and swelling goes away after a day..I m concerned. I am not active in sports so there s no explanation for this. Please help
