What Causes Pain At The Back Of Throat?

I have this feeling ( sorry if it is weird) but it is kinda at the middle back part of my mouth where maybe the nasal passages connect to your throat mouth area and it is a kindof hurting feeling. Is it a sign of getting sick? And how do I get rid of it? I have had it for three days now.
