What Causes Pain At The Opening Of Vagina?

been on depo-provera for 9 months. am experiencing pain at the opening to my vagina after sex esp. while urinating. usually lasts all day, but every time i have sex, it hurts more/longer than the time before. is this a reaction to the depo? am i allergic to his semen? could it be something else?
