What Causes Pain Below Hip Along With Slight Bulge?

i have pain pain below my left hip. there is a slight bulge that you can see.no ibjury to the leg. been in for months. doctor says tendonitis without doing an exam of leg. notice bulge 1st time today.i thought it was my hip causing my pain but when I pushed on the other area I then knew where the pain has been coming from. please help.
