What Causes Pain Below Right Breast?

I have started a pain below my right breast where the ribs are....the severe pain I get is lying down sleeping, when I wake to turn over I get an awful strong pain sensation there and then it subsides....does not happen every time I turn over...during the day I function fine....but I feel like its not normal sometimes can feel strange there but no pain during the day....I have felt both sides and I don't feel something there but just slightly more tender on the right side...just started this about 5-6 days ago....I am able to function fine during the day and have no other symtoms to this pain...I have type 2 Diabetes and I'm overweight close to 80 lbs....have been for 35 years overweight and diabetes started 10+ years ago...I had diabetes with my sons birth....
