What Causes Pain From Neck To Elbow With Family History Of Stroke?

I have terrible pain from my neck to my elbow on my left hand side for few weeks now.I don t ,can t tell if its travelling up or down the pain is so bad.my hand feels like its too heavy for my body.it feels like a string is being pulled in my arm.I had it before x mad it comes and goes.I am really worried ad my mother had a severe Stroke and died from a brain hemmorage.
