What Causes Pain From Wrist To Small Finger?

I was recently washing a bannister and there were a lot of posts going down from the railing. Had to clean all of them down and now my wrist hurts to even put the slightest pressure. The pain is now constant and shoots up into where my pinky is. What could be wrong?
