What Causes Pain In Abdomen Along With Vaginal Spotting During Menstruation?

hi doctor i have regular periods which last for two-three days but this time i had pain in abdomen but blood flow is not there. it is very light just few drops. i am married and have never used any contraceptive pills or any birth control. i have started taking folic acid pills just few days ago. please guide why is it so
