What Causes Pain In Chest Along With Discoloration Of Left Hand?

my boyfriend had a truck fall on his left side about a month and a half ago, he never got checked, now his chest really hurts and his left hand turns blue periodically. He doesn't have much strength in his left arm now either. what could that be and should he be seen?
