What Causes Pain In Chest Radiating To Spine And Shoulder Blades?

I have had a bad cold, ear infection, and sinus infection. Cold moved into my chest and my doctor put me on steroids yesterday. Pain in chest getting worse, shooting down spine and shoulder blades in back. Hurts even worse when I lay down. What is wrong?
