What Causes Pain In Flank And Back Along With Throbbing Sensation?

I have what appears to sound like flank pain, its on my left side around my waist and hip towards my back, this is the second day I have had it, its painful when moving about and I can feel a dull throbbing, I have taken pain relief tablets but it hasn t made much difference, I also think I have a cold coming on as I have a sore throat and runny nose. should I contact the dr for an appointment
