What Causes Pain In Hip And Groin?

I am a 65 year old woman. I had sudden onset of strength in arms (lifting) and pain in right leg kind of in the groin but over more toward the hip. When I go up stairs I need to pull myself up to the next step because my leg is too weak. My left leg seems fine. When I take ibuprofen the pain goes away for at least 24 hours. I'm pretty active and clean houses about 3 or 4 times a month, and in between I chase my 2 year old grandson around. I also bowled on leagues for over 30 years. This came on suddenly a few months ago.
