What Causes Pain In Inguinal Region?

sir/madam,i have a query regarding pain which is continuously present in my inguinal region on right side since two days..it is localised to this region and is kind of a colicky pain.earlier it was less but now it has become more severe.its not radiating anywhere just continuously localized....i m female age 28yrs n married. i m not pregnant n my lmp was 12th august. my mother too had a similar complaints on invest. it was found that she had a kidney which was in pelvis n was non functional... pls guide me regarding this ..what investigations shoild i undergo?
