What Causes Pain In Left Axilla Radiating Towards Left Breast?

My daughter stopped breast feeding about 9 months ago...she has aching pains to her left axilla which radiates into her left breast. My grandaughter is constantly banging her head against her Mom and touches her breast when sitting in her lap. Are the pains related to hormones or are there other reasons for these symtoms?
