What Causes Pain In My Nails When Touching?

My right foot toe nail got hurt 15days before and half of its side is not connceted to skin at all. the other side (left side of nail in length) is still intact. So if something touches the nail it moves and its painful at times. Please suggest if i should get this removed and whom should i contact for this? This nail was operated 4 years back and is a new nail. it was a nail thicker than my other ones and yellow in colour. please suggest.
