What Causes Pain In Neck After Being Bitten By A Pet Dog?

I have pain on the left side of my neck, that at times since yesterday, goes down my neck and up behind my ear. I am really tired, have lost some sleep because of time change. My ShiTzu bit me on my hand while I was trying to get something harmeful awaay from her. It did break the skin, I put antibiotic ointment on it immediately. This was Friday, pain started yesterday.
