What Causes Pain In Neck Radiating Towards Lower Head?

I am having severe neck pain. It throbs and moves up into the lower head. It is so bad that I cannot eat or move without pain pills. I don t have any other visible symptoms like a fever, rash, nausea, numbness or tingling. I can t figure this out but its very painful.
