What Causes Pain In Shoulder Blade Radiating To Chest Area?

i have pain in my shoulder blade and radiates to the front of my chest. It hurts when i move my arm, when i blow my nose, cough or take a deep breath . The pain is sharp on my back ( Shoulder area) sort of stabbing. I applied heating pad and took aleve. could this be a muscle pull?
