What Causes Pain In The Back Of Upper Arm And Forearm?

Extreme pain in the back of the upper left arm and forearm. It gets better with hot shower and rest of the arm with the heating pad. I am not sure if this happened because I shoveled heavy snow two weeks ago, but it happened around that time. It also hurts in the left shoulder area. It is extremely painful.
