What Causes Pain In The Throat Upon Swallowing?

Hi I have a pain in the throat when I touch it. It s at the place where men s Adam Apple is, a little bit under it. I used to have this pain a week ago and then it went away. Now it s back. It hurts a lot when I touch it and now even when I swallow. It s not my tonsils cause I checked them. Thank you
