What Causes Pain In The Upper Right Leg?

I have been having lots of pain in my upper right leg where it joins my body. Yesterday I leaned against the counter and It felt like fire or needles were being injected in my vains in that area. Today is much the same and the area is quite numb. Should I be concerned or seek medical attention?
