What Causes Pain In Thigh And Groin Area After Microdiscectomy?

I had microdisectomy L5/S1 on the left side 7 weeks ago due to severe leg pain which has disappeared following surgery, however I am know experiencing pain over the left outer thigh along with pain in the groin area (left side). This pain is like a dull aching on sitting and when walking can all of sudden send a sudden severe pain almost like a nerve spasm through my groin area, I then find this very difficult to walk, the spasm can last 5-10 minutes during which this time is extremely painful. I am a 48yr old female
