What Causes Pain In Throat While Swallowing And Moving Head Back?

Hi, while I was just watching a movie, I swallowed and got a sudden paint on the left side of my throat where my tonsil is. It now hurts everytime i swallow, I feel like it is swollen, and when I lift my head and extend my neck it hurts the most. What just happened and will it go away?
