What Causes Pain In Thumb Radiating To Wrist?

I cut my thumb with a knife about 9 days ago. The cut was pretty deep. The wound as healed as it was not very wide. However, I m experiencing some pain that runs from the wound down my wrist and my arm. It feels like the pain is running along the bone but I m not sure if that is exactly what is going on. Could this be part of the healing process?
