What Causes Pain In Upper Abdomen And Back Post C-section?

I just had a c section a lil over 2 weeks ago. I have had 3 desperate nights where I get excruciating pains in my upper stomach/rib area and upper back. The pain comes and goes usually within 5 minutes however last night the pain continued for about 30 mins. I was scared I was going to die I have never felt this much pain and I m afraid for it to come back. Is this common after c sections and will it stop?
