What Causes Pain Under The Left Rib Cage?

male 32 240lbs astmatic, pain under left rib first in feb2011, a&e dig' pleur prob. then gp costocondritis, now pain still evident with strong pulse throughout body, also sore red throat with small bumps on uluvla... any idea why this pain is still here and what it could be ? many thanks... al
