What Causes Pain While Swallowing?

Hi, I sometimes have pain when i swallow. But it s only when i drink, or swallow saliva. I just got over a cold not to long ago. After my cold symptoms went away, this started to happen. I can eat food fine without any pain, could it be anything serious?
