What Causes Painful And Purple Nipple?

I sometimes have breast and nipple stinging,pain and burning sometimes it s so bad it wakes me up ( it kinda feels like when I was pregnant but I know I m not) no discharge sometime the nipple turns purple or sometimes it turns white and the area will be hot or warm to the touch it s extremely painful after 30 min to A hour it goes away
