What Causes Painful Blood Filled Blister Under The Arm?

I have a boil under my arm. It is red and tender to the touch. I m used to getting them, but this one has been there more than expected. It had drained some, but mostly blood. Any quick home remedy? I had a polinedal cyst lanced a year ago, not trying to do that again.
