What Causes Painful Bump On The Head?

my wife feel on the ice while curling and has a sizable bump on the back of her head which is painful. Her jaw is also sore, and front of her head is minor pain. She does not feel nausas (sp) and can remember everything that happened. We have ice packs on the bump presently. Can she take anything for the pain?
